For me, the biggest piece has been letting people have their experience. And, sort of like Donna—she and I are similar personality types—I also would take more than my fair share of responsibility and kind of rescue people beyond what was maybe healthy for our co-creative relationship.
I’ve seen myself step back and let things unfold more naturally, and as a result I feel like the relationships and my direct connection to the organizations, or my family members, or the projects I’m creating have been more clear and less laden with all sorts of other emotional baggage.
Everything feels a little lighter and cleaner, a little more nimble in my life than it has in the past. So that’s been a great, great shift for me.
